CELL C (SOUTH AFRICA)

Oger Telecom manages the third license in South Africa, Cell C Ltd (“Cell C”), with Saudi Oger Ltd controlling 60% of the votes. Cell C is dual band GSM operator. Cell C launched its pre-paid and post-paid services in November/December 2001, 6 months after being awarded the license, initially through a roaming agreement with Vodacom, an incumbent operator, but has since rolled its own network which includes over 2,300
base stations, plus over 500 micros. The core network has 5 mobile
switches (MSC’s) in operation.

Cell C products are available at over 6,000 retail outlets in South Africa and has over 3.0 million subscribers (15% postpaid), representing approximately 12% market share.

Cell-C is fully-funded, and has reached EBITDA positive results for over one year. It offers a high growth potential for the group given its growth status in South Africa, as well as the high potential for additional market share through other possible joint ventures.
